LOLWE AQUACULTURE LIMITED
Lolwe Aquaculture Ltd is a private limited company based in Kisumu City, Kenya that was established to support small fish farmers around Lake Victoria. The company has a fish processing facility that includes a blast freezer, descaling equipment, deskinning equipment, and fish filleting equipment. The facility also has cold storage for finished products and raw materials, as well as an outdoor cold room reefer.
Lolwe Aquaculture Ltd forms linkages between the green and blue economy by working with women and youth who grow soya beans and rare black soldier fly used for fish feeds by cage fish farmers. The company works with partners such as the Food and Agriculture Organization, Kenya Industrial Development Institute, Equity Bank Limited, and the County Government of Kisumu to provide technical support, financial support, and policy and regulation support. The company is run by a nine-member board of directors and a managing director.
